Located in the City with panoramic views of the Thames, One Angel Lane is on the site of Britain’s largest medieval trading post. Following extensive redevelopment it is now the European headquarters of multi-billion pound Japanese conglomerate Nomura.
With over 50,000m² of Grade A office space and a value of over £100m it is the largest single occupancy fit-out in the UK. The extensive stone flooring and lining package was entrusted to Putney & Wood by Mace’s specialist fit-out company, Como.
Moleanos, Azul Valverde and Yorkstone were used for internal flooring in various locations throughout the building. While quartz wall lining was installed to add a feeling of luxury to the director’s suites, corridors and entertainment areas on the 11th floor. Putney & Wood also installed ceramic floor tiles in the kitchen and cafeteria areas on the sixth floor.
Following completion, the project won 'Fit-out of Workplace' category at the regional 2011 British Council for Offices London & South East Awards. Steve Root, Managing Director of Como, commented, “Your company scored an average score of 9 out of a possible 10, which is a good result with the following comments. “Level 11 [the Director’s level] was extremely good. No faults, with great detail against stainless steel beads (9.75 [out of 10]).”
